Energy Management Essentials

This introductory course provides participants with all the essential knowledge and skills they need to save energy, reduce operational costs and carbon emissions, comply with legislation and meet their organisation’s environmental goals.

Course topics include monitoring and targeting, energy auditing, solution development, and regulations and standards. As part of this, course delegates conduct a supervised energy audit visit to a plant room and cover writing an audit report.
On successful completion of the course, students will achieve the i&We (Industry Consortium) Level 1 Certificate in Energy Management Essentials. They will also be well prepared to move on to the Level 2 course to gain the i&We (Industry Consortium) Level 2 Certificate in Energy Management.
This course also meets the prior-knowledge requirement for attending an International register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) certified Energy Management Systems (ISO 50001) Auditor/Lead Auditor Training course.

Dual target:

  •          Energy optimization and audit
  • .       Energy Monitoring & Analytics System

THE FIRST COMPONENT ENERGY AUDIT AND OPTIMIZATION

  •   Rated power, billed power, measured power
  •   Energy consumption profile (location and time wise).
  •   Identifying the hierarchy of the MCB Tree.
  •    Measurement of Line Losses and filling up energy consumption all along the MCB tree.
  •    Identification and re-conciliation of the rated power, billed power and measured power.
  •     Complete commercial/Industrial Bill Analysis.
  •     Identification of relative weights of major consumption centers(AC, Lift, Lighting load)
  •     General Methods of Energy Bill reduction.
  1.  Reduction in each bill component
  2.  Time Wise Reduction
  3.  Reduction of Line Losses
  4.  Other methods of reduction
  • Generalized study of different AC Systems.
  • Generalized study of different Lamp Loads.

ENERGY MONITORING AND ANALYTICS:

  •  Why Energy Monitoring?
  1. Parameters and metrics to be monitored.
  • Time Dimension and Location dimension
  •   Hierarchical summary
  •   Period wise summary
  •   Comparison between different periods
  •   Monitoring components of maximum demand
  •   Energy profiling graphs and reconciliation of reasons for bad load factor.
  •  The TOD Dimension.
  •    Functional components of an Energy Monitoring system
  1. Metering Boards
  2. Aggregation through network
  3. Software tools for accumulating streaming data
  4.  Preprocessing and summarizing of the data(Using BIG DATA Techniques)
  5. Multidimensional (OLAP) techniques on the summarized Data using BI Tools and OLAP Engines
  6. Dashboards using BI Tools
